This is a sad time of year for me. The end of summer means that I have to wait a whole 9 months for summer to roll back around!
I hated school when I was growing up...so summertime has always been my favorite time of year!!! I still experience residual anxiety from my youth as we watch August fly by. Even this evening I was noticing how it is getting darker just a little earlier..."boo-hoo, sniff, sniff". "Bye-bye summer."

The slow result of Life's decay,
To be once more a little child
For one bright summer-day. "

i absolutely LOVED your candor last night during whatever wednesday.... i smiled like you were just typing the thoughts as they came to mind. i hope the LORD came and tabernacled with you as you studied His word in the last few minutes of your day.
girl, i gotta tell ya. summer's have become bitter sweet for me... up until a year ago i lived in Georgia and enjoyed 7-month-long summers! :) now, we're in Massachusetts and summer (a GA summer) lasts oh-about 3 days.... i miss real summer. i don't even wanna try to enjoy the outside here for fear that i'll fall in love with it and fall to pieces when the leaves fall off the trees in september. so i find myself no longer embracing summers, and actually (ironically) looking forward to the 7-month-long winters......
so i won't feel guilty about not wanting to go outside.
is that crazy twisted thinking or what?!!
I feel your pain Cheri, I'm not a winter person at all. I love the hot Texas summers
I like it all as long as I get to spend it with you.
Mandy, I was typing as the thoughts came to me...that my style...transparency :)
Wow...from GA to Mass. What a big change! Do you get to visit "home" often?
Mike...the only thing I like about winter here is that there are LESS mosquitos.
Honey... I just thought of something I enjoy about winter...getting cozy infront of the fire after the kids have gotten to bed ;)
i haven't been blogging long at all... but i'm bored w/ life and needed a decent/productive hobby. (my hubby doesn't quite think blogging is as productive as us ladies do! LOL)....
i found a couple of blogs who have a LOT of Jesus-lovin' women at them, and started blog-wandering.... and they came back to mine as well.
some of them stayed!
try the LPM blog on my blogroll...
and the boomama blog.
those should get you into a LOT of other great sister's blogs!
Buddy must have done something wrong, sounds like he is trying to suck up.....LOL
Amen Cherie...I don't want summer to end either...now the real word (work and school) begin again...:(
Kenya...my college student friend, Sophonie, is trying to talk me into trading places with her for awhile. She said that she would keep the house and teach the kids, and I can go back to school full-time. I told her that I would settle for her just teaching the kids how to keep the house!...lol.
I feel your pain girl...but just keep plugging away. We are so proud of the progress that you have made. You impress me. God has given you an incredible mind. I was never that gifted academically. I have a complete melt down just trying to juggle my one class a semester. I figure that I will finish when Em. finishes...just in time for Buddy to retire and for me to support him for awhile!
Mandy, Have you been to my friend Julie's...She is definately a Jesus lovin lady. http://julieblack.wordpress.com/
Cherie - Thanks, you're so sweet! By the way...I LOOOOVVVEEE Boomama's site. It is great!
Mandy - Come on over when you have the time :) I'm gonna visit yours too!
Many blessings,
julie
